Dr. Karan Gupta

Dr. Karan Gupta is a Founder and Technical Director at STVENANT LLP, an engineering consultancy firm focussed on providing hydraulic modelling solutions to infrastructure design for inland and coastal waters. STVENANT LLP is an official hydraulic modelling consultant to IIT Varanasi and an industrial research partner to Ocean Engineering group, IIT  Bombay.

 

Dr. Karan Gupta had done his PhD in Coastal Modelling from IIT Bombay and post doc in modelling of river flood forecasting from IIT Delhi. He had also worked in Danish Hydraulics Institute where he gained strong expertise over MIKE software. He had carried out around 30 consulting projects as principal investigator at national and international levels for hydraulic modelling of bridges, causeways, subsea pipelines, highways, hydropower projects, shipyards, ports and harbours, metros, railways etc. He has specific interest in applying CFD principles for wave structure interaction, Mooring analysis of floating bodies, innovative coastal protection works,  Scouring around bridge piers for bouldery river beds, spillway and energy dissipator design, surge tank design for hydropower projects and flow uniformity optimization in wastewater treatment plants.
