Orientation Program on OpenFOAM and its application to CFD

FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, is organising an 'Orientation Program on OpenFOAM and its application to CFD' on 24th July 2026. 

Who can attend:

Faculty members, research scholars, lab staff members and students (in group) who teach, learn and use CFD. 

Program Details:
 
This program will enable the attendees to get started with using OpenFOAM for solving CFD problems, get introduced to the resources to learn OpenFOAM, and compile CFD problems as Case Study Projects. They will be made aware of the various domains of CFD where OpenFOAM can be applied and the capabilities of OpenFOAM. They will also be informed about the benefits of association with FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, in terms of career enhancement.

Prerequisites:
 
1. For every institute a 'Program Coordinator' should be assigned. He/ She will be the point of contact for FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, team.
 
2. In case more than one department is joining for the program the Program Coordinator should assign Department level coordinators who would manage the program at their respective departments. All of the department level coordinators will report to the institute level coordinator, who will be in touch with FOSSEE, IIT Bombay.
 
3. The Program Coordinator(s) should arrange a venue, preferably a Seminar Hall, classroom, computer lab where the faculty and students could attend the program with their laptop or desktop
 
4. OpenFOAM should be installed in all the computer systems (desktops/ laptops) to be used by the faculty members and students. 
 
Once you fill up the Attendance Confirmation form for the program, the CFD team of FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, would provide the necessary information for OpenFOAM installation. A live online support will also be provided for the individuals who would face installation related issues.
