I started my journey with FOSSEE through the Learning-Based Workshop, where I worked on the project titled “Numerical Study of Flow Through a Sudden Expansion using OpenFOAM.” This workshop provided me with a valuable opportunity to gain practical exposure to OpenFOAM and strengthen my understanding of computational fluid dynamics using open-source tools.

I would like to sincerely thank my FOSSEE guide, Prof. Dr. Tushar Chourushi, Associate Professor at MIT ADT University, for his guidance and support throughout this work. I am also grateful to Ms. Payel Mukherjee, Project Manager at FOSSEE, and my mentor Mr. Manjil Sitoula for their encouragement and for providing me with this wonderful learning opportunity.

It is very encouraging to know that my project will be featured as a case study on the FOSSEE platform. Knowing that my work may help future learners understand OpenFOAM and its applications is both motivating and rewarding.

I truly appreciate the efforts of the FOSSEE team in organizing such workshops that help students learn and work with open-source tools.
