Testimonial by Pavan Sai Tarun Medehal, FOSSEE Autumn Semester Long Intern 2025, from VIT Bhopal

My experience with the FOSSEE Semester Long Winter Internship 2025 was very valuable and boosted up my confidence in CFD. During the internship, I received training in OpenFOAM from  Evan Fernandes sir and learned to use FreeCAD and the CfdOF add-on under the guidance of  Parees Palkar sir. This training helped me in understanding CFD workflows using open-source tools. 

As part of the project, I worked on several OpenFOAM cases such as cavity flow, pitzDaily, backward step, 2D channel, and Mach 6 simulations, and reproduced them using the FreeCAD CfdOF GUI workflow. I also performed additional simulations including airfoil analysis, projectile simulation, and plane analysis.

I would like to sincerely thank my mentors, Mr. Vedant Dubey and Mr. Diptangshu Dey, for continuous guidance and support throughout the internship.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of  the FOSSEE internship program.
